Principles Course
August 26, 2025
The Principles of Wheel/Rail Interaction course has been revitalized and reimagined with a tighter focus on the practical aspects of wheel/rail and vehicle/track interaction for 2025. The course will begin with a case study — and it will be referenced throughout the day as we dive into; friction management, damage mechanisms, measurement systems, noise & vibrations, vehicle suspensions, track structures, geometry among other topics. A wrap-up session will review the causes attributed to the case study. The Course will focus on the practical aspects of wheel/rail and vehicle/track interaction on subway and light rail systems. The speakers and topics can be seen below.
